Session 14

We pick up the following morning with Mika having taken the sleeping potion the previous morning. The Group goes down to breakfast. River decides to read,Tix separates out and prepares the ingredients for the Healing Potions, Taurin meditates and does some yoga,

Leaf prepares her armor and weapons after a day off (which she thought was a dream) and Mika happily watches on. They (around lunch time) decide to head first to Pandoras to see if anyone found her lost cat.

Metz is out front and lets the party know that the cat has been missing for three days and if they are looking for treats to use to find them, chicken is best, so the group heads down to Temple Square to buy chicken. They encounter the large ginger cat from the night before. Leaf attempts to be a cat without using Beast Shape, even though River is a Tabaxi, which River finds offensive. River then goes to a park and looks around and smell for cats which leads to an

alley behind a tavern called ‘The Coin and Griffon’ where they find a small red leather collar with a tag saying “Socks” and Pandora and Metz’ name on it.

They decide to go into the pub with a ball bearing smelling strongly of chicken. They order drinks but no cat appears (as they thought someone in the pub had stolen the cat). Asking the bartender, he says he has seen cats before. After showing him the Missing Poster, they don’t get very far and leave to check the alley again. Not trusting it, River goes in through a back door, checks out the cellar below then goes upstairs with the chicken ball bearing. This causes someone to leave their room to go in search of food. River slips inside, steals a ruby necklace and leaves. The party forces River to return it and they head back to Pandoras.

Pandora is now out front with Metz. The group shows the collar and asks why she hasn’t just scryed on her cat. Pandoras’ response? ‘Do you know how expensive it is to cast Scry?’ as you need to have a crystal ball worth 1000gp. While T’ix tries to talk the party around, a teenage girl comes in, delivers a message and leaves again. After reading it, Pandora shows Tix and it is a ransom note. 500 GP in return for the cat and to meet at dock 4 in 2 hours. The group tries to convince Pandora to stay but it is her cat and she is going.

The dock is quiet when they arrive and take up their positions. Two figures appear with a crate and place it down before Pandora and draw their weapons. The group takes theirs out also but Pandora brings one back to find out why the ‘hit’ was placed. As it transpires, Lady Reylana put out the ‘hit’, to River’s dismay and hatred, and she kills the figure before stalking off. Pandora goes to check on them and T’ix asks Pandora out for drinks, to which Pandora agrees to buy the group a round of drinks in thanks after she drops the cat off and collects Metz. 

They walk off together until they reach Temple Square with the promise of meeting at The Singing Dragon in an hour or so.
